THE FEAST OF THE HOLY AND UNDIVIDED TRINITY
Sunday, May 27th, 2018

Collect:

Holy God,
faithful and unchanging:
enlarge our minds with the knowledge of your truth,
and draw us more deeply into the mystery of your love,
that we may truly worship you,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

First Reading: Isaiah 6. 1-8

The prophet Isaiah sees a vision of the glory of God and is aware of his unworthiness to gaze upon this scene. Having been reassured of God’s forgiveness he is able to step forward when the Lord asks, ‘Whom shall I send?’ Are we held back from responding to God’s call by a sense of unworthiness, and what do we need to reassure us of God’s love for each one of us?

Please respond to Psalm 29 respond with the following:
In God’s temple all cry ‘Glory!’

PLEASE STAND when the ALLELLUIAS are sung.
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!
Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: to God who is, who was, and who is to come.
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!

Gospel: John 3. 1-17

Jesus invites Nicodemus to look at his relationship with God in a new way, and with a deeper understanding of God’s love for him and for the world. v16 is the Gospel in miniature – God loves; God gives; we believe; we have life.

NEXT WEEK: TRINITY 1

Deuteronomy 5. 12-15; Psalm 81. 1-10; Mark 2. 23 – 3.6
