Erin was ordained Deacon and became the Assistant Curate at St Matthew’s in July 2016, after a short placement at St Matthew’s the previous summer. She has recently been appointed the new Rector of Bethnal Green and will take up this role from St Matthew's as of March, 2019.
Prior to seeking ordination Erin trained as a sociologist and worked in churches and community and youth development organisations doing outreach and arts-based work. As befits her American origins, she has also been a cook in three different pizza restaurants.
In her spare time Erin enjoys travelling, running, practising weird musical instruments (banjo and ukulele at the moment), smashing the patriarchy, exploring London and learning German with the help of her husband, Max.
Erin also works as a freelance editor and writer. Her poetry and fiction have been published in place including Geez, Pilcrow & Dagger, Mash Stories, and Quail Bell. She can be found on Twitter @e_m_clark and on Instagram @erinovitch.
